Just Right Cottage is working towards alleviating housing insecurity through a comprehensive program that is focused on simplified building techniques, efficient recycling, and thoughtful design. Practical forward-thinking will allow us to build a truly affordable home with lower utility costs, expandability, and retains a timeless attractiveness yet maintains its economic price. See the donation form below or visit our GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/5f31bbe54 if you are interested in supporting us. We are interested in partnering with other non-profits or private investors/philanthropists to secure substantial funds to grow our program quickly.

Exterior Walls
30% of the cottage utilizes recycled,
refurbished, and salvaged building
materials. For example, the dark brown siding is made of old fenceboards that were cleaned and stained.
Its four hundred square feet are easy to clean, inexpensive to heat and cool, and feels cozy. It is designed to be lived in, not impress.
The exterior walls are ten feet tall; the cathedral ceiling is seventeen feet tall. A feeling of spaciousness is achieved.

Have a staggered stud scheme which allows for very efficient heating and cooling

The Cottage is designed for ease of construction. Much of it can be built by non-professionals
It fits in many places where 'typical' houses do not or can not. Small pieces of land can fit a JRC (on less than two parking spaces)

Help us grow the Just Right Cottage
Just Right Cottage has just passed a final inspection on the prototype of the low-income affordable cottage and are ready to move in. We plan to see many of these cottages built across the country. We intend to set up a program to collect and salvage building materials and used furnishings, set up a factory to construct partial walls, rafters, and more, as well as build cottages and teach others how to do the same. The Just Right Cottage has exceeded our expectations; it is highly energy efficient and nearly sound-proof. It utilizes 30% salvaged/used material. And it looks attractive!
